howdy y'all. Down in Avon,NC (Cape Hatteras)right now. Strong winds but wrong direction!! Checked out the lighthouse this evening and it's coming in not too bad there so we'll check it out tomorrow. I'm in St.Catharines and didn't know there was a club just to the South. I never thought about surf on Erie (or Ontario) but will give it a second thought. Where's this "H" spot on the Erie shore?

When are we going to do a beach clean up this Fall?
Maybe we should do one at The Bridge and another on Erie.

man, you have to buy unsalted. That movie will give you the basics to look for more info on surfing here. BTW, I sold several boards to guys from Rochester in the late 90s, and I bet those guys are still around. Gotta look at a map, watch the weather buoys, and when it gets good go look at likely spots-you'll find surfers if you look hard enough.
Good luck

Holy crap! I had no idea people surfed on the Great Lakes! Our good friends from Raleigh N.Carolina whom we vacation with on Hatteras every year (near the Hatteras Lighthouse)and are ESA surfers told me to check out the Great Lakes link for surfing info. I saw a picture on the wall at Natural Art Surf Shop in Hatteras of a Lake Erie surfer and that's what got me curious. Totally blew me away. I just learned how to ride a long board in the last couple years and want to get hooked up on the lakes. I live near Rochester, NY and want to know more...please fill me in. Bill

I intended sarcastic humour with my previous post regarding shark biscuits. Spongers are ok, bodysurfers, and dudes in Kayaks too. Hope none of you shingle surfers took offense
